"I enjoyed its remarkable clarity through the audioband and particularly through the midrange, which was magic with voices; its oodles of presence, which gave real body to the music at no cost in resolution; its awesome bass weight and detail, which were surprising from what are relatively compact cabinets and modest-size woofers; and its extremely precise imaging, which made for astonishing soundstage focus. All of this adds up to a speaker that’s not only exceptional for its price, but exceptional for any price. I could see living with a pair of Sopra No2s and not wanting more for a very long time. The Sopra No2 more than lives up to its name: It not only goes over and above; it goes above and beyond."

And somehow I missed they are now SAM ready for the Devialet! [emoji106]

Norman, when we were at RMAF the Sopra 1's were better sounding to a bunch of us who there. Maybe it was the synergy with the Naim electronics, I don't know. But they just sounded more coherent than the 2's. Beautiful sound, and LOTS of toe tapping! A very fun listening experience. I went to that room 3-4 times.

Thanx Mark, I hear this consistently.

i will have to go listen at the local dealer (I can walk there from home in 20 mins) when they get here in Nov. Same dealer that carries Devialet amps and Phantom. Very nice fellows.

+1

Sometimes a system just has "it". And that room had "it".

+1. I liked the bigger, deeper sound of the Sopra 2s, but the highs weren't as coherent as with Sopra 1s. Could be the gear, could be the room, who knows. I don't think you could go wrong with either one, but the 1s definitely hit the spot!
