Brucelet has a Lampi and is close to Joe, so he can go compare if he likes. I am sure its a lot of Dac for the money, but the Lampi circuit and the DHTs are big differentiators. Plus there are no Dac chips in my GG...PCM and DSD chipless. Ha!

Bonzo feels a Lampi DAC is the one right now and a no brainer, so its payup or settle for less .

I think the starting price is under 1K....
 
~120 hours and still improving. :) I've been running it almost continuously since last Tuesday.
Yesterday I ordered a pair of nos amperex orange label 6DJ8/ECC88 tubes. holland made, same code dates of 71-10. Nobody, AFAIK, here has tried these yet so I might as well.

Ha! The sale only lasted a few days. Even at regular price it's a great investment. Mine is simply awesome.

Maxed out mine was $1400 delivered. Worth every penny.

Well you fully optioned yours and went for the full MCAP option, Box stock is 999.00 ... :)
 
if couple of folks here are interested in the fully loaded configuration, getting the sale price again would be great and tempting :)

Hi a.wayne,

My other DAC is a MHDT Constantine. Granted it's hardly high end so I'm not the best person for a review with appropriate context nevertheless, I like what I'm hearing.

I ordered it with the stock options. I replaced the $2 stock rectifier with an old GE 5R4GY that I had laying around. I suspect there's a lot of room for improvement with various tweeks and careful tube/cap selection.

Hah! I'd like a $300 refund then .:rolleyes: Or better, he can send me the upgraded caps. OTOH I could live with the Siemens valves too.
