Hi all,

Two questions on Lumin U1 Mini against the latest firmware.

1) My player got FW21 recently. Today it showed another update prompt, but after updating it still shows FW21. Is this normal and safe?

2) Since FW21, I seem to noticed the highs — especially hi-hats and snares — sound slightly more forward than before. Could FW21 have altered the tonal character, and is it possible to restore the previous sound? For reference, a CD player, another source, and another DAC all sound less forward in the highs.

Any thoughts?
 
1. Please swipe away / kill the app and relaunch it. If it still happens, let me know.

2. Please make sure everything you don't use is turned off: Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, Lumin Streaming (AirPlay).
 
Thanks. Soundscape seems back to expected.

Done: 1. Killed/restarted app few times, didn't think that helped. What I did was remove app and reinstall for making sure the latest app update was installed and seems sync app<>player is reset. That seemed to help

Hmm, that's not normal. Perhaps you did not use the correct way to kill the app? Merely backing out of / exiting the app is Not killing it. On iOS, you need to bring up the task list then swipe it away. (If you have an ancient iPad, it means double tap Home button. Now I don't know how to describe it.) On Android you need to go into the Android setttings for the app, then "Force Stop" it.
 
Yes, close the app on iOS was done by swipe up from the bottom (or two press on home button) to get in task overview and swipe up the app to kill

I think to recall Lumin app was open on another device during, maybe that was the issue
