Finally setup my Triode Corporation TRX-M845 Monoblocks ....

Thanks all for the tube impressions. Has anyone compared the Psvane 12au7-T to the cifte. The guy selling the cifte tubes will not sell to overseas buyers.
My amps have the stock 12au7,psvane cv181-TII and shuguang 845Bs with the red lettering which i assume are a later version.
This was how i bought the amps

Dart. I assume you are talking about upscale audio? I'm in the same boat as he won't ship to Australia.

I would try the psvane. Everything I have tried of theirs sounds good.

Thanks Rob. From your experience, do you rate this service over other companies offering the same service to Aussie buyers? Or much of a muchness?

Have not used AUS post...did use another company a number of years ago (US based whose name escapes me now)...was somewhat painful to setup & unless used regularly could end up being expensive...a monthly fee to maintain the US address for example...I bought what I wanted held mine for 30 days than cancelled as per the terms at that time...
At least with AUS post if something goes "pear shaped" you know you can "thump the desk" locally...maybe...

Joe - looks like we have been too late with respect to those newly developed 845's. I just spoke to Rachel at Grant and she only has two left with more expected around March.

Not sure what to do now..... go the WE replicas?

Personally I'd go with the WE replicas. If for any reason at least you'll be able to see them glowing. I'm not a fan of the blacked out tube look...

I agree with Elem79, although I would not mind using the two remaining Treasures as driver tubes and WE845 as output tubes.

One of my Triode TRX-M845 amps went dead last night. Can anyone help with where i can find the location of the fuse and what spec it should be

Thx Brett

yeah that happened to me last week - very easy fixT2

directly below the socket for the power cord - just use a flat blade screwdriver

you need a T5AL 250V

I'm guilty of blowing the fuses in my Vitus cdp also about 6 months ago. Silly me forgot to switch off the power while I was jiggling around the power cable to my player, which in turn caused an arc. But after swapping out of the two slow blow fuses, cleaning the carbon smell off the contacts & a precautionary check with my High End AE, all was well again. Actually I plan on upgrading the fuses to some nice Telos fuses shortly just 'cause i'm a mad audiophile! :audiophile:.

On the 845 tube you have the nipple protruding from the side just above the pins to assist with installing the tube.
Can i still use the tube if the nipple is missing?
