Hi Jax,

I'm thinking of making the switch from a MAC mini with external power supply to N100H. What were you using before? What's your postive and Negative feelings on the unit?

John

Hi John,

Well, today is only day 2 so it's early, but right now I'm very positive about the Aurender. First of all from opening the box to listening was like 15 minutes. The easiest computer audio setup in my experience by like a factor of 10. That alone is practically worth tears of joy. Secondly build quality is also a very good story. In fact it's one of the best constructed components I've ever owned. Heavy and rock solid not to mention gorgeous. I was using a CAPS server before running windows 8.1. The CAPS server was headless and sat on the stereo rack and was connected to my system via USB. I was using JRiver and JRemote for music playback. The Aurender app is better than JRemote. Faster, less buggy, more feature rich, and prettier. As for sound quality, that's hard to say. I'm definitely getting stunning sound quality, but I was before also. I need more seat time before I can comment on a real diff in sound. What I can tell you for sure is I have not noticed any loss in SQ. So it's as good or better than the CAPS server. I actually am feeling it's better and noticeably so, but I'm reluctant to put my name on that yet as I want to make sure I'm not just hearing things (so to speak). : )

I'd love to hear your system, Jax. It is a very smart configuration. Very lean, very high-end, with some great economic choices. Those ATCs sound as good as my Diapasons or better.

Thanks for the compliment! Would love to hear your system as well. :)
