Fear of Turntable setup?

Eric I am using a Denon DP-62L with the S arm as the secondary table in my main system and the setup is straight forward. If you will tell me which Denon you are dealing with I will try to help you get it set up. My eyesight is probably no better than yours as I am due for cataract surgery next month. We are here to help when you are ready.

Hi Jack,
Just for your reference my Denon is the DP47-f which is a completely different animal than the DP-62L in every way. Like I said, we can re-visit this when I'm ready to set it up.
I wish I could get eye surgery, but that isn't going to happen in my lifetime. I have narrow canal glaucoma. There is no medication for it. the only thing is surgery.

I've found that the "final touch" on having a great vinyl experience is setting the azimuth correctly... No, you can't set it by eye or with mirrors. A ton of very good cartridges do not have the stylus centered (perpendicular to the record groove) on the cantilever. This will give you a "skewed" L/R channel balance. The Fozgometer with a test record will balance your L/R channels perfectly, giving you heavenly imaging...

If anyone in the LI / NYC wants to borrow (or better yet, have me "Fozgo") my Fozgometer, let me know. It makes a huge difference.

My $0.02,
Pete

I have used headphones on occasion to balance out the channels.
John.

I am really sorry to hear of your condition. Let me ask, what area do you live in? Perhaps someone local can help ? If you were local to me I would come by and help !

Put the word out !

It may come to that. We'll know when I go to set this thing up. Like I said though, first things first. No amount of preamps, carts or anything will help until I get the room treated. (work in progress).
