I'm going to pick up a Mono Cartridge. Anyone have favorites?

Was thinking of the Miyajima.

Didn't realize I had that many mono records until I started counting.

It's a veritable bargain and makes me wonder strongly what the stereo cartridges from the same maker are like...

Mike - they're superb. The Medake (sp?) is one of my favs.

Mike,

Where did you end up in mono-cart-land? Opinions of your choice?

Mike - I ended up with the Miyajima Zero Mono. I actually bought two (one of those "one to show, one to go" situations), so if you want me to send you one to try, let me know.

I wish I could tell you how it sounds, but my VPI Titan is unlistenable with the RIM drive. I am waiting on a new bottom platter and a belt drive system, then just need to find some time to set everything back up. Funny enough, Part-Time Audiophile reviewer Richard Mak, is also wanting to try the belt drive system on the Titan. We both feel it will be best. In my situation, it was the only option. Horns and rim drives don't mix. LOL. I could hear the motor "whir, whir, whir, whir" through the horns clear as day.

Miyajima Zero Mono is a wonderful cartridge, I am sure you will be quite happy once you can put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Mike,

Best of luck getting things back together.

I've had a Zero Mono myself for a couple years now but thanks for the offer! I love what this cartridge produces from my older mono records.
