Fats Domino has died at 89

Very sad indeed.

I saw him open for Jimmy Buffet in '93 - the Buckeye Lake Amphitheatre show outside of Columbus, OH where the volcano burned down during the set.

Was definitely a thrill!

Rest in Peace Fats Domino!

We grew up listening to his music in our family living room.
My dad was a big fan - playing his numbers on the piano.

I love Fat's music, even the stuff that wasn't a hit, and he had a lot of hits.

What surprised me about his death, I didn't realize he was alive. His music was older and I just never heard anything about him, not even in my younger days. If he came through St. Louis I didn't know about it, he wasn't on TV like Little Richard, not even a late night jam on one of the talk shows. Maybe that's why I feel like he didn't get the recognition he deserved. He lived for 89 years which is a good run on life but his death didn't get the attention of Chester Bennington or Chuck Berry etc. Maybe Fats needed to hang with a Rolling Stone, smile

It's sad to see these legends pass. To us they are the tolling of our mortality & if I have to join them, there will be angels in the choir, yes sir! god speed Fats
