Hello, Thanks to the forum and Joe and Wisnon, I am gonna get the Job 225 Amp. Now I need to look for speakers that can pair with these.. I am looking at the Evolution Acoustics MicroOnes and was wondering how they pair together. Does anyone have this set-up and can tell me how they pair up? Also, are there any other "game changer" speakers lately under 3K that anone have heard or read about?

thanks!

Hi Speakers!

Welcome to the forum. Thank you for joining!

In my experience, I have not had any speaker that did not sound great with the Job 225!

They're great little speakers, just don't overdrive them (ie in a big room or with a powerful amp). Value for money.
Also check out Silverline. I've only heard their tiny ones, but they shouldn't sound as good as they do.

I've always thought that combining two JOB225's with a pair of Emerald Physics 2.3 mk2's would be insanely good. I would venture to say it would beat many $80,000 systems out there.

I am listening to the micro one in a 14.5'x24'x9'3" room. They are not too smal and I am driving them with Krell 900e monos. They sound killer. I also am using DIRAC with them. They are playing flat to 40hz. Excellent bass and dynamics. My usual pair of speakers is the YG Anat III signature. It's no YG but it is a very high end speaker!

I think the Job 225 and EA Micro Ones would be outstanding.

Or a used EP 2.7 with a Cullen Modded Behringer. The 2.7s use Beyma pro drivers...among the finest out there.

Used a 2.7 system can be had for about $5K... throw on a couple Jobs or a Job + a D-Sonic stereo amp for the bass and you are Golden.

Haha, I was telling Joe this sounds like a nice second system, too. But you do need two Jobs for the job!:D

Unless you are going to be able to go listen in person, asking for opinions on speakers is dangerous at best. To many factors to consider. Room, placement, furnishings, floor type, ceiling height, equipment, sound profile preferences etc. Unless you want to buy something cheap and universally well reviewed by multiple reviewers like the Pioneer SP-BS41 for $89 or the Wharfdale Diamond 10.1's for $350 you need to go listen. Only other fairly safe option which I have done many times is to buy used from A'gon at usually close to half price, then if you don't like them you can resell for what you paid.

Lot of good recommendations. But I would have to second the Sonus Faber Venere 2.5/3.0. Surprisingly close to the sound of the company's other far more expensive speakers. (See Soundstage Hi-Fi review.)
