Based on my checking, the only way then is to open the top cover and have a look at the Master Sound Discrete Clock module which is totally different from the non-SE version.

I'm just wondering why didn't Esoteric add "SE" to the model name printed on the faceplate to avoid confusion..

Because non-SE owners can upgrade to SE version identical to production SE version.

I have reasons to believe the Esoteric Sound Stream / Lumin app or Roon should see its model as N-01XDSE. Not sure this applies to upgraded units, probably not.

Correct, Peter, I have the SE and it shows up on the Lumin and Esoteric apps.
