A friend has been interested in using Bamboo under his equipment for a while, with what he feels is a good result.
After some different thoughts on what he wanted me to build he decided on an all Bamboo rack.
His thought was to use 1 3/4" Bamboo tops for kitchen islands. He chose a fairly simple design that bolts together with 3/8" threaded rod through the 3 1/2" square legs. It currently had 1/4" H legs on the bottom and I'm not sure what he is going to use on the actual floor.
Only issue about working with the Bamboo is it's heavier than I would ever thought.
The unit is 24" H x 54" W x 18 3/4" D and weighs a bit over 180 lbs. That made for 2 evenings of mass Ibuprofen and adult beverage. I deliver it to him tomorrow with the assistance of my much younger nephew.
