:hi:Guys
I've been eyeballing the Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2 amp. 300 wpc x 2 into 8 ohms. Balanced & rca inputs, iec power cord.

I fully realize that it's made in China, but it has been getting a lot of good comments.

Best of all, it only costs $899.00 shipped and has a 5 year transferable warranty.

I've never heard any of their amps, but this one seems like it might be the real deal.

Comments and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Bob, I have an XPA-2 (XPA-5 too), gen 1, and they are great amps, period! ...Nothing sophisticated as intricate details are concerned, but still great nonetheless.
The XPA-2; great for Movies, and fine for Music. ...And excellent for your bank account! :)

P.S. I think you can get an even better deal; when on sale. ...$799 or some like that.

I spoke with Chad at Emotiva about compatibility with my Mac c220 preamp and he said they would work fine together.

So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna take a few days to think it over and make a decision by next Monday(Sept 2).

I just thought of something. I would be pairing up a $4k+ preamp with a $900.00 amp. We audiophiles do some funny things, don't we:bonkers::bonkers::bonkers:

I'll be sure to post my decision.

BTW, my B-day is Sept 20 so it would be a nice gift to myself:derf::derf::derf:

Bob, the best of luck to you as you decide.

P.S. - Audio related gifts are the best.

I have run my Stratos amp with my VAC pre with great results, but not in same league as my Counterpoint. I know the Odyssey's are a little more pricey but they come with a 20 year warranty and kick butt for the money. I have yet to hear any Emotiva gear but as said, they continue to get good press. Good luck with your choice.

Supposed to be really good value. Does their 30 day trial apply to the XLR line too?

Don't know about 30day trial. But I read, it's really good for HT set up. The XPR1 is rated 1k watts....anyone here have tried them?image.jpg

Yes we do. I love my USP-1 that is decades newer than anything else in my main system, except for all the X series interconnects.
