Typos aside, it can take me longer than 30 minutes to discover something stupid that I may have said. I've gone back and corrected things after 30 days that were factually incorrect. :doubtful:

Drama, save it for the movies. Sheesh! Mike, I'm sorry to read that someone had a temper tantrum on this forum. You run the most liberal community where folks to come together and share. I don't know of any other forum like this. Your rules are basic and reasonable. You are not a maniacal crazed OCD content cop - policing and controlling but a genuinely nice guy through and through. Pity. To go back and delete every post is vindictive...BiPolar?

Not the first time in this case. Lets Lighten up; we haven't walked in his shoes. We all give opinions both positive and negative. Thats our purpose here IMO. Just don't get personal.

Going back and deleting every post I wouldn't call vindictive exactly, I don't know. I would call a herculean task for someone with a lot of time on their hands though.
AS is the only forum I belong to now. Your right David, I've had my share of other forums in and outside of audio. Besides, 99% of everything said here (and in other forums for that matter) is opinion, nothing more and nothing less. Keeping that in mind helps. (Although sometimes it slips me, but I've learned to step back and take a breath and ask for clarity if need be).

My thought is to go back and delete all your posts involves not only time but leading up to an completing the task - thought, purpose and an end result - final statement and impact, perhaps? Or maybe, there was no purpose or intent...rogue behavior. And your right... speculation at best.

My 2 cents anyone should be able to edit or erase any post they have made if they wish to.

Going back and deleting ALL your posts is contrary to the sprit of the forum. Going back and deleting all your posts is also a violation of the forum rules since day one: "Copyright to forum posts and other information become the property of the forum."

P.S. Bud, I fixed the typo for you.

Thank you. However, I forgot what post I was trying to edit. LOL.

24 hours seems reasonable. I generally find most typos by then, but sometimes it takes a longer period. It amazes me how I read and 'see' something other than what is actually there.

However, I also liked the ability to infinitely edit posts. I felt that ability was treating members as adults. (I would not have been able to add that sentence with the 30 minute limit.)

I understand what your saying and I had not read the rules that close but as my post is just my opinion I stand by it. I do not feel your rules are heavy handed I just think deleting your own posts should be allowed. IMO

Fair enough, but not ALL of them in spite.

I think that 24 hours is a great idea.

Too many times I've seen posts (mine included) that were posted, well, lets just say - not in conscience state of mind.

24 hours is also enough time to see if your post was inadvertently offensive to people.

Just my $.02

Mike.......I like the idea of being able to correct grammatical errors, typos, and spelling errors. I missed the Edit function when it suddenly disappeared. A 24-hour duration on editing seems quite adequate. On the other hand, bristling up with an attitude and vengefully rampaging through the forum deleting posts or threads seems more like an assault on the wellbeing of the forum. There needs to be some sort of time limit on editing/deleting content. In my humble opinion 24 hours appears to be a happy medium.

I voluntarily left this forum and swore I would not post here again after being treated so unfairly by the Moderators after being targeted by a troll known to me who follows me to different forums, trolling me. This member said some very insulting things to me, and insulted my friend and religion. He further suggested I should "take some meds" which brought back very painful memories of suffering anxiety, depression and insomnia years ago as a result of being bullied, intimidated, sexually harassed and summarily dismissed from a workplace years ago. That was years ago, but I see it hasn't stopped several members labeling me as mentally ill.

I felt forced to respond to this post from Mike however to correct a lie. I was a regular contributor here and contributed over 420 posts to this forum. The number of posts I deleted was less than 15, not ALL my post history!! One member even cruelly suggested I was "vindictive" and had "Bipolar" disorder! Another described it as "vengeful rampaging". My reasons for removing those 15 or so posts are my own. The simple fact is I have been painted as a rogue and made into a patsy to bring about this change to time limits on editing posts. It is just the last kick in the guts on the way out the door...

Bodhi, sorry to read that. I wondered why I hadn't seen any posts recently from you. I guess I missed whatever thread you are referencing. Also, check out Magico's new web-site. They did a nice job, and have the specs posted for the S7.

David, my friend we all need to strive in life to not let the acts of others or the fate of the universe affect who and what we are. You are a constant these things are variables. You are a knowledgeable, opinionated audiophile and a valued member of this community. Be who you are and forget about the other stuff. Just let it go with this person.

And that's all she wrote....always someone else's fault. Poke a tiger in the eye and wonder why you get bit.

OK, back to the topic at hand.
