97% of climate scientists believe in global warming and man has made some contribution to it. Who thinks they are wrong?

97% of the scientists surveyed agreed that global temperatures had increased during the past 100 years; 84% said they personally believed human-induced warming was occurring, and 74% agreed that "currently available scientific evidence" substantiated its occurrence.

Last ice age was "only" 11,700 years ago and it was pretty damn cold.... Scientists have predicted that the global average temperature during the ice age was around 46 degrees Fahrenheit (7.8 degrees Celsius.) However, the polar regions were far colder, around 25 degrees Fahrenheit (14 degree Celsius) colder than the global average.

Who do we blame for that "warm up" and climate change?

I personally think we have way too many overly self confident and overly self assured scientists these days throwing their opinions around as if absolutely factual and often intertwined with some political agenda.... Please don't tell me that any change we make, whether it is the right or the wrong way to do things, does not cost a whole bunch of money and someone is not getting rich one way or another... :sneaky:

If they were always "right" there wouldn't be so many conflicting theories all the time...

Global warming’s symptoms vary wildly from hurricanes and flooding to desertification and fires. But all come from the buildup of gasses like carbon dioxide. The more carbon dioxide there is in the atmosphere, the warmer the world gets. Now, researchers have shown the opposite is also true.

A paper published in the journal Nature Geoscience confirms that a drop in carbon dioxide around 34 million years ago caused Earth to enter a period of global cooling, called an icehouse state.

There are no self assured , only the well paid collective , nothing new mind you ..!

Not me, I'm into science.

Economy impacted by climate change? Only one small example ... very short read.
▪︎The Argentine River That Carries Soybeans to World Is Drying Up - BNN Bloomberg

"So when the river’s levels fell to the lowest since the 1940s -- the result of years of scorching drought that scientists attribute to climate change -- it deepened the strains on an economy that was already struggling to recover from its pandemic collapse."

Mother Nature? Why does it have to be a "Who" We have gone back and forth between hot and cold many many times so why would it be different if it happens again

Brian, I get that but, for you, myself and Serge, all living in the SE quadrant of Pa. the trend has been warming for some time now. According to Cecily at least ! :D

Serge, the earth's climate is different today than it was hundred years ago...with 7.8 billion people and growing.
It's a combination of several factual factors; and it cannot be more evident than in China, India, and the United States of America (South too, Brazil Amazon forests, and North, Canada Oil Sands).

What is the percentage between human-made and natural elements I just don't know, I go with the flow of between extreme heat and deluges. Between I can hardly breathe with all the smoke of the fires and ICE cars, and my heart and brain are taking a beating.
Even my audio music listening concentration is affected; I kid you not.

Things that are no good for human health are certainly no good for human wealth (economics and finances and ecosystems and ecosocial human cultural entertainment and ecological).
That is a lot of echo ... 😳

So 74% of all scientists are "overly self confident and overly self assured scientists these days throwing their opinions around as if absolutely factual and often intertwined with some political agenda" - do you really believe this - if so your knowledge of the scientific community is on display for all to see...

"If they were always "right" there wouldn't be so many conflicting theories all the time" - please give the vocal minority any comment they can latch onto - regardless of how truthful it is & they do. You only have to see all the BS conspiracy theories about Covid vaccines to understand that...

This article should suffice... Climate scientists are starting to push back against exaggerations by activists, journalists, and other scientists. Why Apocalyptic Claims About Climate Change Are Wrong
