EAR Acute 3 CD player and DAC is outstanding .....

He cycles through gear at a pace that most people change underwear ... ;)

Hmmm...I think he purchased two gears before I changed to the new underwear last time.:sigh:

Just kidding , Joe :)

Big Congrats and we are just envious . You know we  you ...:woot:

Wow Joe! Congrats on that fine CDP! I like the silver version, but aside from looks it's performance that counts and it sounds like this has it in spades. You know it's not the brand of dac (Wolfson, Burr-Brown, Cresent, etc), but how it's implemented and executed that counts. You can take any dac and if implemented and executed correctly will sound amazing.

Thank you Eric. I appreciate it very much. I am a happy camper.

I bet you are!:D As I am with the Marantz! That thing while not as fancy as your EAR Acute does sound better than it's price point should allow indeed! Like I just discovered, while it sounds fabulous in stereo mode, but it opened up even more when I switched the AVR to direct mode and is just making me grin from ear to ear. (Sometimes I fool around with the different sound modes on it for fun).

It's a great feeling when gear exceeds your expectations.

Hey Joe, I didn't see that one coming, congrats on your ear, you've got me listening now. ;)

Thanks Kev.

The opportunity presented itself and I jumped. Glad I did.

Just think Joe. If it ends up making you grin from ear to ear almost every time you use it, you will have found audio nirvana and then all that's left to do is enjoy the music. Well, that and massage your cheek muscles as they will be sore from all that smiling.:audiophile:

Eric,

I am already dying to get home to play some more music. It's killing me.
