I think my byline might end up, "I have a friend". But, I have a friend who owns Legacy Valors. Several models of Legacy come with a device called The Wavelet. The Wavelet is quite a fascinating and complex piece. You'll have to look it up for all the details but it's a DSP, DAC and crossover. It takes samples of the room those samples are sent to a central computer I believe in Switzerland.

This same friend also has six JL Audio subs. He got the idea what if my subs had their own Wavelet? The JL actually have their own internal DSP. This setup is really complex. It sounded good but it was a real juggling act. I'm not sure exactly how this all went down, the bottom-line Bill from Legacy brought another Wavelet to my friend's house and set all of that up. So now the JL subs have their own Wavelet. The subs are better integrated and have better time alignment.

The result is excellent, a resounding success. The system has never sounded better.

So, the speakers are a pair of Valors, 6 JL subs and two Wavelets. He uses and needs the electronic crossovers but bypasses the DAC section. To my knowledge he may be the first to use two Wavelets.

He's a friend of mine too, Steve in STL and extremely happy with the 2nd Wavelet with bespoke programming for the 6pack so it and the master Wavelet coordinate for full correction.

He bypasses the DAC and volume control in favor of a Lampizator Aphrodite DAC (prior was an H360) and Esoteric Grandioso C1X driving 2 Esoteric Grandioso S1X stereo amps for the top end and Grandioso N1T in there for network streaming plus all sorts of other goodies on the vinyl playback side....

I thought you might chime in, feel free to add any additions about the Wavelet you you want. The system was always good but the balance the second Wavelet gave is stunning. The sound is coherent with not one aspect drawing attention, that's what I personally like.

I (also) have a friend with the Valors in a very, very, well sorted room and cannot process the Valors AND a six pack of JL Audios subs. 🤯🤯

His current room is large, however, it used to sound a bit like I think you are imagining. The second Wavelet put everything in order. The bass now goes low when the signal is there. The system is now balanced, flat if you will, in a good way. Still musical and very good sound quality.

As a Legacy customer of many models over the 20 years and 3 levels that use Wavelet, I've happily answered alot of questions on my own experience over the years on various forums and calls with fellow hobbyists.

I'm not here or any other place to push product; my post is simply meant to support a friend's system mention who does not himself like to overpost about his own setup. He tells me he is extremely happy!
