DSD vs PCM
The iFi idac2 sampler has 3 files recorded by the Sound Liaison team in absolutely stunning quality.
To my ears the DSD sounds a bit warmer but the PCM is maybe clearer with a bit more depth.

Yes, they have been available for 3 months or so. People in the iClub got the notice a bit before that as well.
There was also a fre DSD album like a year ago as well.

In my system I generally find that DSD has more air and transparency while PCM, especially 96K sounds fuller.

Funny too me it is the other way around. Just goes to prove no 2 pairs of ears are the same.

Ones and Zeros SHOULD be the same, but the majority of ears say there is a difference. And it appears from reading thru the various forums, the way the DAC converts the Ones and Zeros is the main difference.

The latest Sound Liaison album is converted to DSD with a dCS DAC it says:

The recording was done in 96kHz-24bit PCM. The DSD tranfers were done using a dCS DAC going into the Tascam DSD-recorder.

So when doing a conversion the DAC is also important, compared to say a software conversion.
