Down and Out with the Yamaha TX-1000 Tuner...

I am very leary of places I do not know... just don't want to deal with crap....

If I can ever get an antenna that I am totally happy with :)... love the sound of the McIntosh tuner... really good!
 
I was on the phone with them yesterday. They are out. That is where I am getting the Godar DXR-1000 from. They are expecting them back in stock on 1/17. If the Godar is not perfect then will get the ST-2 from them :)...

I have read reports on both. There are very few comparing the two, but a couple did say they like the Godar better because of the wider base. One did not like the idea of telescopic for outdoor use.... since I am not going to use it outdoors that does not matter. Of course many people like the MD ST-2, but as I said could only find a couple comparing the two directly. One guy said he has both and prefers the Godar :dunno:...

If I had my dithers I would probably go with the MD since so many people like it... but what the heck, will try the Godar and can always get the ST-2 if it is not perfect :D...
 
Hey Jack, I had heard that. I am sure it is just me but I am having the hardest time finding out how/where to buy a Metz...
 
Well that's good news! A couple sites I saw it on said it was discontinued. I'm glad they were wrong... And I stand corrected!

It is kind of hard to tell though Metz is still showing it. It may be one of those when it's gone it's gone. But it is about half the price of the MD and would be worth trying if they can deliver.
 
Ok, just ordered one. I had heard that Metz was the OEM manufacture of the ST-2, and through research the 288 model appears to be exactly the same.

After shipping and tax will be about $45 less than the ST-2...

Got an email that it is being processed out of Burbank store and will be shipped from closest store that has one in stock... so we will see. I will cancel the Godar tomorrow before they ship... don't want them to waste a shipping.

BTW, Metz shows it on their site as being a current product.
 
The MD ST-2 just became available on Amazon. I decided to order one just in case the Metz is not available. I have no confirmation that the Ham Radio Outlet actually has the Metz in stock. I have already received confirmation that the ST-2 will arrive this week. Being an Amazon Prime user I can return without problem.
 
Dang! I paid $18 more for one on eBay yesterday, because the clown charged $18 for shipping. Oh well.

Really.... retail is $129... everybody I have checked with sell it for that. Why would he charge $18 to ship something that weights less than 2 pounds :)....
