Music servers loose too much expression, don't even get me started with multi-cd trays
The two other things I find women do during listening, and I use that term loosely for them, are talking during the music and wanting the volume to be reduced to the level of Background/Elevator music.
Just another drawback to vinyl. Get a music server, and never worry about misplaced records again.![]()
Gary.......Same experience here, especially wanting to talk instead of listen. Even worse, the talk is usually about some dribble I have no interest in. If you tell her you couldn't care less or suggest she please be quiet, she cops an attitude. I'd rather let her remain glued to the television in the living room watching Life Time Movie Network or some other B grade women's channel. I don't even try to get her into the sound room anymore. Quite frankly that's fine with me.
And you're right, women listening is a true oxymoron.
Music servers they are so impersonal just like the old 57 Dodge Torqueflite Pushbutton Transmission that resided on the dash.![]()
Wow!
Not only does Susan love listening to music, she totally understands the value of my Klaudio US record cleaner. She loves songs with great lyrics and often sings along. I could've had a dedicated room downstairs, but she insisted that the main system be upstairs so we could both enjoy it.
Surely there are more women out there like her.
Mark.......You are a fortunate man to be able to share your audio passion with your lovely lady. I don't mean to leave the impression I am unhappy with Marlene because that certainly isn't true. Although I would enjoy a greater appreciation of my enthusiasm for music, I understand her peace of mind while enjoying television. She is a TV person and I am not. We are just different in this way but have long since come to terms with it. The living room sound system gets played often while we cook and while we enjoy dinner. When I want to focus on music I go down to the studio where I can listen in peace at whatever volume I wish to any hour I wish. That keeps me happy. It's a satisfactory balance that keeps us both happy.
