Guys - here's how the ads work. I don't have the time to call every audio company to see if they want to buy ad space. I also don't want to be dictated to by advertisers (i.e. don't let your members write negative comments about our products or else we will pull our ads.) I already have manufacturers who won't participate because I "allow" people to speak their minds freely about their experiences with certain products (good or bad).

The ads are determined by Google Adwords. We assign a certain amount of space on the site for ads and the revenue from those ads (100% of it) goes to run the site. Google determines the ads based on YOUR browser cookies.

We can go to a annual subscription basis. What I can do is look into whether its possible to have an annual subscriber pay $X per year and then NOT see the ads. If you don't pay, you see the ads.

By the way, the ads you see are determined by cookies (tracking) what other sites you visit. So if you're seeing ads for Asian hookers.....just saying....

I must be boring because I only see ads for clothes and infrared gas detection!

That's hilarious! Somebody on AS (fess up because you know who you are) is looking for Asian women and that is why we are seeing those ads. Every ad we see on this website is based on somebody's web browsing which is kind of creepy. So every ad we see is a reflection of our members. That's almost like living in a mobile home park and getting hit by a tornado and having your porn collection blown across the neighborhood.

Just to clarify what Mike stated above, the ads that you see from Google AdWords are targeted for you based upon your own browsing history (not from any other forum members.) I must be just as boring as Mike since I don't see any of these 'questionable' ads either!

Mike, I didn't want to say it glad you did. My ads are for whatever I've been shopping for lately. This week it is work boots and espresso machines. It's amazing how fast they keep up to your trends,
