I'm thinking about these or the Harbeth 40.2 for my Triode corp. amps.

Nice looking speakers. $20K with stands and the first drivers made from Zylon

Zylon (IUPAC name: poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole)) is a trademarked name for a range of thermoset liquid-crystalline polyoxazole. This synthetic polymer material was invented and developed by SRI International in the 1980s and is manufactured by the Toyobo Corporation.

Ive owned SP100s from the late nineties, IMO the original S100 was the best version. Spendor has been through a least two owners since the first iteration, the price increases over the years is grossly disproportionate to the rate of inflation. A clean, used pr of SP100 for $2k is a good buy, a new pair SP1002 are how much again??

Probably too much. I have not even checked. I start looking around and see what looks good. I am not even sure I want/need anything.

Spoken like a true audiophile Joe, you´ll never walk alone! :)

Why not hold your horses until High End Munich has passed? You´ll have a better sense of what the market has to offer / what´s coming and probably avoid buyers remorse.

Excellent advice. I agree. I'm not going to do anything for a while. I toy with the idea of selling my Strads. I start looking around for something else but nothing really excites me right now. I wonder how much I'd miss my Strads if I sell and if I could love something else as much.

Joe,

Please don't sell your Strads. I predict you will be buying them again within 2 years!

Thank you Anshul, the Strads are officially discontinued so that may not be possible. :(

Joe, don't you wish they have a lease program like an automobile. Here, I will sign for 24 months $90 bi weekly. Oh add the damage protection for extra $5. Done. See you in two years ~ [emoji851]
