For 2 channel Hifi stereo listening...

When you use a power conditioner, you are supposed to plug in the preamp, DAC, and transport into it. But I was wondering, please:

1) Do Plug you amp into the power conditioner?
OR
2) Do you plug the amp into wall and just have the digital components/preamp into the power conditioner?

I don’t run mega-big power amps. I learned about grounding issues the hard way. I usually plug my amps, DAC, and pre-amp, into my Bryston BiT15 power conditioner (I mean it’s all going to the same 15 watt circuit breaker). Single grounding for all that. I plug TV, Apple TV, and BluRay into the wall, separately.

Now, if I come into money to burn, and start fresh: separate new circuit box 2x 20 amp circuits for amps, 2x 15 amp circuits for rest of stack. Separate pair of circuits to the Analog stack. Overkill, for sure, but relatively future proof. Most of the cost is getting the electrician there, and getting the new box placed+wall repair. Additional runs are the cheapest part.

I plug my power amp into my conditioner. However the conditioner has outlets that do not limit current specifically designed for power amps.

Most conditioners these days recognize the potential to limit current and offer specific outlets for power amps or don't limit current at all. As an example my prior conditioner was a Surgex 20 amp unit that didn't limit current.

There are a variety of conditioners that do various things with different technologies. If you don't know about your conditioner or still a good idea to listen both ways, into wall vs into conditioner. Although mine has the special outlets I still compared. I thought the amp may have had a bit more slam plugged into the wall but the improvement in sound quality plugged into the conditioner took preference.
