Django Unchained

I loved this film, it was everything I wanted it to be and more after being somewhat disappointed in Inglorious Bastards. Not that that movie was bad, I just wanted something different from it. I got what I wanted in Django Unchained. I enjoy all the subtle (and not so subtle) references in his films, such as the fact that one of the characters in this film, the Sheriff of the small town that confronts Django and Dr. Schultz outside the bar, and gets gunned down by Schultz, is Tom Wopat...Luke Duke, from Dukes of Hazzard.

Tom Wopat I missed, so now I'll watch it again to see what else I missed. There really was a shitload of stuff in this movie, even for Tarantino. I think the only way he got away with it is he is Mr Controversial! Plus I do agree, it was a great movie, I'd rate it up there with Terence Hill & Bud Spencer.....

It had everything! I agree! Suspense, humor, drama, a little romance, fantastic acting and a lot of action.

I saw it back in march along with several other of the award nominees including Argo, Lincoln, Les Mis, and Life of Pi. Although Pi was the best movie Spiritually and Visually, Django was my favorite hands down from the opening scene. I love westerns to begin with so this was up my alley. I had to laugh about all the over the top impossible blood splattering but that is just Tarantino so you go with it.

I really want to watch it again soon because it was so good.
