What a flamboyant press release. Nothing against Devialet but could the copy writer drop a few more names and could he sprinkle a little more stardust in the copy. Oh, and like I'm going to take Kanye West's opinion for gospel on anything other than perhaps how huge Kim's butt really is. I'm guessing he's never seen it unwrapped with the lights on. Phew!

I heard them Mauidan and only for about an hour. They are good for the size they had better bass than a speaker that size normally has. If you lived in a condo they would be great I would think. A speaker for the stars and those that follow the stars. So no grumpy old men so Mep you will not like them.

I don't think I would give up my NOLA KOs for them, that's for sure.

Just think if you did you could tell all your friends they are made by Bose. I bet 90% would say it is true they are the best. But then Grumpy old men don't have friends:( They were a lot better than they look perfect for watching Star Wars or any Sci Fi. Not trading in my gear for them but in the right room not bad at all.

You are a real funny guy Garth. I'm still laughing at some of the things you have written.

I had to talk Ian out of replacing his M Projects and Pass gear with a pair of these....[emoji57]

Ha! I am convinced that Beyoncé sat down and had a nice Demo of these just before......

They sent her a pair in order to say she has them

I would be more interested in her review than fluff saying she got the first run of production....what a joke and useless press.

Jon (VTSkier) is one of the few I know who has heard these. He was impressed. I look forward to hearing it.

They should be a hit on the lifestyle circuit of life. They will be a conversational item when people come to your house. If they sound really good, it could help draw more people into the hobby.

I've said it before, but man devialet got this product so very wrong. As alluded to earlier in this thread, the primary buyer of these will be rich people with no clue about audio. And I'm not talking about your average doctor. I'm talking the filthy rich. And they will simply buy it as a novelty. Audiophiles for the most part don't want this product. And the average joe won't pay $1000 for a Bose wave music system (which he'd love to have) let alone 4 grand for a pair of these. The average joe buys a home theater and calls it a day. And he spends less than 2 grand on that usually less than 1 grand. And he's damn happy with the massive bass his sub already puts out.

Yes,
the market positioning! It will be interesting to watch how it plays out.

Kinda in no-man's land.

I also think it was deliberately cripple above the low frequencies to lay ground for Phantom 2, the audiophile haunting which will cost double and take on Kii.

I've heard them, fairly briefly. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical but they are very good, and pretty decent value for money considering the quality even thought it's beyond most typical home audio prices. The first thing I noticed is how they throw the image into the room rather than emanating direct from each unit. Devialet do seem to demonstrate them with techno music but play something more delicate and they handle it well.

Well I hope that the Phantom is not the product that sinks Dev. They invested something like Euro12m in this and have to sell over 7K units just to break even….

Don't ask me how I know.

I suspect they will sell lots. These are odd looking speakers that sound WAY better than you would expect. If you get a chance to hear them take the time. They are really quite good.
