Just had a home demo of the Expert Pro 220 amplifier after calling the Devialet NYC Soho store. Really love the sound but I am not sure what speakers to get with them, does anyone have any recommendations?

I've only heard the 440 or 400, whichever it is. What is your price? I'd start with checking the website to see which models they have the software for. I've heard Magico without the software, it sounded great and proves the software isn't always necessary. I've also heard a set of $3500.00 Focal using the software and they sounded better than any $3500.00 speaker should.

I personally find the Devialet to be neutral and matching a speaker shouldn't be difficult. Listen to some speakers with that amp and go for the set that makes you tap your toe (sounds best to you)

I would definately get sth on the warmer side of nautral, with full bodied midrange. I have two firends who have settled on Sonus faber speakers with Devialet, after a long search.

I bet sth like Dynaudio speakers would also work.

I would be very cautious with pairing Devialet with Focal.

I can add some thoughts here.

I owned a Devialet 220 fully upgraded. I agree with Elberoth - Focal (Sopra 3) is not a good match (way too analytical and bright) but Dynaudio (Contour 60s) and Sonus Faber (Amatis) are a decent match. I tried all those combinations. My preference was actually the Magico S3 mk2s (took me a while to get used to non-ported bass), which is almost counterintuitive.

Have you purchased the Devialet? I think it is extremely good value for money. But my advice (having been there), and assuming you can up your budget, is try some other amps before you buy. It is more expensive, and I am biased as I upgraded my Devialet to this, but the Gryphon Diablo 300 (or other similar integrateds, although I personally haven’t come across anything as good as the Diablo 300 at its price) is the better option. You will of course need a DAC (people on this forum rave about the Diablo DAC module) and maybe streamer (not sure if you are all digital) on top of that. If money is an issue but it is a 6-12 month issue, my advice would be wait, save, and buy the better gear.
