Mike Gray did a lot of very fine work researching the techniques that Decca used in their Golden Age of recording. I used his research along with my interviews of the different remaining Decca engineers and other staff in my Decca book. Unfortunately, by the time of my interviews, beginning in 2013, most had passed away. There were a good number of superb engineers and producers working for Decca. Gray mentions several in the article. Their creativity began in the late '30's when Arthur Haddy, Kenneth Wilkinson and Arthur Lilley joined Decca and continued into the digital era. Many others also had extremely long careers with Decca. Much of Decca's recording equipment was home grown, which also made them special.
