Hi all dCS owners,

I wanted to buy some MQA CD's but first contacted dCS to see if my Rossini player could decode MQA discs.
dCS answered that this would not work at the moment and it was not on their development scope at the moment. (but technically possible)

Maybe if more owners contact dCS, the factory might include it in the next update.
I for sure would like that, as the list MQA of discs is slowly growing, and would like to add some to my collecti,

Thanks

Olaf

Based on my understanding of the products in your signature, you should be able to decode MQA CD if:
- They are ripped to files
- MQA tags are properly done using MQA tag renaming application - https://www.mqa.co.uk/customer/tag435sdf43te
- You have purchased the MQA Core decoding upgrade for the Aurender
- You have upgraded the Rossini firmware

Rossini DAC input supports MQA rendering, which uses the M1 filter. It requires a MQA Core signal (first unfold) from its own network interface (or locally attached USB storage), Tidal desktop app, Audirvana, or a transport that does MQA Core decoding such as your Aurender or Lumin U1 (MINI).

Note: This assumes Aurender has no known bug with MQA CD. You may check with Aurender.

(Roon should also work in the future but it currently has an open issue ticket for MQA CD.)

Thanks Peter, but all of that is working, I would like to play the internal transport with a physical MQA CD, and that does not work at the moment.
The internal transport sounds very good with normal CD's, that's why I am interested to see how a physical MQA CD will sound.

Also the Rossini player can fully unpack MQA files when used as a network player, I have both the Aurender and Rossini set up as streamer device
