Looks like the version of dBpoweramp for apple is out of beta testing. Woohoo!!!!

No need for Windows at all now.

:woot:

Been using it in beta for months and now have the final release. It's still a little buggy I find, but at least the OS isn't buggy! :P

So have I, and yes, it is a bit buggy but it does instill more confidence as it goes through the paces.

What are you guys referring too? I'm running a mini mac with big storage into a dac. Thinking about getting the dac and mini to sample properly

I'm not sure how it might do this without Windows, but does it include the HDCD decode pllug-in?

It supposedly does, but my DAC, which also plays HDCDs, does not have an indication light to confirm that it is reading an HDCD file when played from a computer. The beta version of the Mac software, which I've been using, does include an option to read the HDCD layer upon ripping.

You don't need an HDCD-capable DAT, that's the beauty of dbPoweramp (or Foobar 2000). hdcd.exe will decode an HDCD disc to 24/44.1 PCM; is that what happens with dbPoweramp on the Mac?
