There are high end electronics and there are Veblen electronics; a €50k integrated is the later.

Unfortunately all high end gear that either goes East or West over the Atlantic get priced up significantly. A US price in the mid $40k's makes it a nice savings when compared to the stereo amp and the pre-amp. From my listening sessions it sounded better too.

And no, if the price dropped they would sell more.
