Saw the amp at CES. Dan says it has 4200 VA transformer, doubles from 250 watts/ch down to 2 ohms, actual power higher than 250. Sonically apparently similar to the Momentums. The unit shown is not the final design or finish. Their normal metal work company could not supply the chassis in time so D'Agostino used someone else for the mock up. There will be some changes physically. It's huge, similar to the old Krell KSA/FPB models. Two channels can be bridged for 1000 watts, closer to 1200! Anticipated shipping in Feb. Dan says audiophiles will NOT be disappointed.
Hey Jock: Does the Accuphase C-2420 mate well with the A-70? When I had the P-6100, the 2420 sounded bright, but I'm thinking the amp was the issue there. I borrowed David's C2820 and it was quite good, but more on the mellow, rounded side. Sounded more dynamic and bass oriented than what I remember of the 2420.
Yes we have 3 less expensive amplifiers shipping in a month. The Power amp comes in both 2 and 3 configurations with 300w per channel and RS232 boards and can be used for custom installs. The amps are $12,900 and $15,900.
We are also using the same chassis for a Dan D’Agostino Classic Stereo 300w @ $12,000.
Nice do you have authorization to use the above picture that appeared in Robert Youman's article from positive feedback??? Doug Schneider of Soundstage has already warned you against using their copyrighted photography without their permission.
