While I agree this has disrupted society, and is certainly a big mess, we can’t stay sequestered forever. Already people are starting to revolt against the restrictions. How should we proceed?

First step, at least do something about widespread testing at the federal level. Help all 50 states to achieve getting a coronavirus test is as easy as getting a flu shot. Along with a plan for contact tracing.

Second, draw up a re-entry plan that is guided by science and public health, not politics and election. That means listen to the infectious diseases experts, not the billionaires, and let them get us out of this hole.

Third, stop telling lies.
 
Yes, those are all good suggestions, but I think the country will collapse before they are implemented. We need to bite the bullet and implement your suggestions, and, while doing that, slowly get back to work.

More politics! People just can't resist getting shots in which I said before. One more example of why these threads don't belong on audio forums. There is only so long that you can force people to be unemployed and keep them unemployed before mass civil unrest occurs. We are quickly approaching that intersection.

Maybe, but I think not. There is nothing wrong with having an off-topic forum on an audio forum. We aren’t monolithic. Just stay civil.

US has spent more than $6 trillion on coronavirus. If the money gets to those really in need, do you think $6 trillion is enough?

The economy will right itself some businesses won't survive but others will take their place. America is so famous for that.
Be patient stay home practice social distancing.

While the point you make has inherent merit, if we had a competent and trustworthy administration, the economy could be opened up in phases with acceptable risk. The fact remains that the man at the top and his cronies have been lying much of the time. This is not just my assessment -- there is plenty of independent proof.

Pure politics from you unless calling the President of the United States and his "cronies" liars is considered non-political on an audio forum. My point has far more than "inherent merit" as you just demonstrated with your blatant political statement.

OK -- I will end my participation in this thread by asserting that stating the facts (that the president has been lying repeatedly during this pandemic) is not being "political". This particular thread is not about audio.
But since there are some people whose sensibilities are being hurt, I will keep my opinions to myself.

Even if what you say is a "fact" as you proclaim it to be, it would still be considered a political fact. You're playing games. One thing you are right about is that "this particular thread is not just about audio." However, it's still not supposed to be a political thread in which you keep trying as hard as you can to get in your pot shots at politicians you despise. That's not supposed to be the purpose of this thread as Mike keeps reminding people.
