Known for it’s uniquely simplistic approach to high-end digital audio, Core Audio Technology is announcing an all-new system concept: The Fully Digital Home Theater. The system features the Datasat RS20i mated with our fully digital amplification technology for a true, fully-digital multichannel system where the only analog in the signal path is the speaker cables and all processing is handled in the digital domain without conversion, upsampling or oversampling of any kind.

The Datasat RS20i

This multichannel processor is the ultimate mixture of sonic performance, state of the art technology, and ease of use. Capable of 16ch+ surround sound with up to 86 inputs, 34 analog and digital outputs, and the ability to route any input to any output, the system can handle any formats you are likely to ever throw at it. Add in the active crossover, Parametric and graphic EQs, and the multi-phase multi-mic impulse correction of Dirac Live and you have a multichannel system that is as perfect as they come.

Staying Digital

The D/A converters in the RS20i are state of the art, but as they say, no conversion is better than no conversion. In the Core Audio system we utilize our Kratos Fully Digital Amplifiers via the digital outputs on the RS20i to bypass the conversion and preamp stages of the processor for the ultimate low-noise, low distortion sound.

The Kratos utilizes an ultra low noise linear power supply based on our Kora and Kalos designs, with separate regulated rails for reclocking, the pwm controller, and output stage. The Kratos Digital amplifier takes a digital input, reclocks it, amplifies it in the digital domain, and then the signal is demodulated to drive your speaker directly. This means there is no D/A conversion, no analog cables, and no separate preamp or amplifier.

From A-Z

Core Audio’s team of CEDIA certified installers offers services from power system configuration utilizing our active grounding and passive power distribution systems as well as scalability from 2 to 32channel fully digital or Digital + Analog surround systems including active and passive speakers, whole house audio, advanced home automation, and more.* This is finally a multichannel system that rivals and surpasses the best 2-channel available.
