Cold Weather Listening

The high temp here in Florida was 61 degrees. It sure was nice to have 50 vacuum heaters in my music room.

Ok, I can take it if you call me a sissy.
 
Nah, it’s just that thin blood that you acquire as a Floridian, something that I hope I will acquire too at some point in my life! Enjoy those fancy room heaters!
 
I was hoping the addition of a Pass Labs X250.8 to my living room would render my HVAC unit obsolete during the winter months. While I do occasionally warm my hands directly above the heat sinks, sadly, I still have to rely on my heater to provide actual warmth for my apartment.

Guess I'll have to upgrade to a XA series amplifier instead. :D

You live in Avon, Indiana? Isn’t that right next to Bedford?

I open my vents in the basement in winter, so my listening room (also in the basement) gets a bit too warm some nights.

This is the time of year I love my stereo in CA. When it’s on, it is a space heater. In the summer I have to run the AC in order to play the stereo.

I just saw your system pics, and noticed a pair of Duevel speakers. a friend of mine in our audio club in North Fla has a pair of the Duevel Sirius speakers driven by a AR GS150. The system sounds awesome. I had never heard of those before.
 
crap weather in the forecast for next week here in Pa, so it will hopefully lead to some quality listening time and with COVID going nuts.......

I haven’t heard the Sirius yet, I have listened to Bella Luna Diamanté’s and Planets. The Sirius looks to be a pretty large and serious speaker. Interesting combo on the Duevel and ARC gear, not one that probably comes around often!

I really do love the Duevel, omni’s are more my thing, and the Venus matches my room very well with the German LinnenberG electronics too. I have heard Duevel with Octave, and really liked my Venus on the Octave V70SE integrated, really nice match!

Shame there are no dealers anymore in the USA, but have to give credit to Pascal at Mutine, the North American distributor, he did a fantastic job of getting my Venus to me.
