I recently upgraded my system based around an Anthem AVM90 processor. Previously I was using a Nordost Red Dawn analog cable with my Anthem 1120. With the AVM 90 I tried a good coaxial cable my dealer brought over when he installed my AVM 90 and the new amps. I had assumed that the digital coaxial cable would work better than the analog connection but I was wrong. I am interested in other peoples findings in regard to digital vs analog in connecting the Lumin T2. The cable was a $300 cable so I assume it was pretty good but maybe it just was a poor match. If others are finding that digital coaxial is better can you tell me which coaxial cable that you are using. Thank you

You're asking if people prefer using the digital coaxial S/PDIF output or the analog XLR or RCA outputs from the Lumin T2?

Respectfully, those two configurations are not equivalent alternatives, regardless of which cables you may be using. If you find things sound better to you when using the T2's analog output, versus the AVM 90 analog output, then just keep doing that.

I am using analog cables but the Anthem converts to digital which is why I expected a coaxial connection to be better. No conversion

If you connect the T2 to the Arnthem via analog cable does it still go through the DAC in the Anthem? If it doesn't, and remains analog through the Anthem and out to the amp, then that might explain why it sounds better? If the T2 goes digital in to the Anthem and then through the DAC in the Anthem then it's not really the T2 signal that's coming out (i.e. it's been processed by the DAC in the Anthem). I would guess you'd probably want to avoid having the Anthem doing anything to the output of the T2 apart from sending it to the amp.
