I have 4 JL Audio F-113 Fathoms in the corners of my room and I discovered that placing the 2 that are behind the Clarisys speakers (front wall) to a phase setting of 180 degrees greatly improves the bass performance and soundstage for that matter.
The other 2 subs that are behind me and in the corners are set at normal phase. 0 Degree.

I'm thinking the improvement is because the Clarisys do project sound behind them, and that sound may be out of phase with the front of the speakers

Also don't forget even with only front radiating speakers different frequencies arrive both in and out of phase and everywhere in-between to the listening position.

You discovered the power of swarm subwoofers. In my opinion, swarm subwoofers are very useful to smooth out the bass response. Every speaker type benefits from them. What crossover frequency do you set on JL?
