I’ve had my Carisys Studio Plus speakers for a couple months now. I have to say that they have exceeded my expectations. They truly play music. Nothing distracts you from feeling the emotion of the music. They also do a really good job in pin pointing instruments in the soundstage. The only negative thing as with all cannel speakers, is if you play something that is say a singer w just an acoustic guitar - the soundstage size is bigger than life. If it’s an electric guitar and they use a mic - then the soundstage is right on point with the live performance soundstage.
Beyond their tonality and dynamics which they excel at. They do this with any amplification you throw at them. Whether it’s a $4,000 integrated with a dac under $1,000 or class D amp or a 16w 300b amp or a 100w tube amp or a $100,000+ solid state system. It's the first speaker in my system that doesn't sound terrible even when my wife uses airplay to send her compressed songs from her iphone.
Every other speaker I’ve had always had some amps that just didn’t work very well. I’d always tell myself that it was because the speakers were so revealing that it was showing up the amp etc. But the studio plus is every much as detailed as any speaker I’ve ever had in my room using the same amps. These include: Magico M2s, Avant Garde Duo Mezzo XDs, MBL 126s, Raidho D5s and many 2 way stand mounted speakers.
I’m really excited about getting the Clarisys Piccolo’s in the near future for a smaller room I have. After hearing them in Chicago, I was really surprised how well they did in their large room. More on those later.
