Posted over in the chord Hugo section of headfi. Thought it might be of interest here.

Folks were right. The chord sarum tuned Aray interconnect would not fit the chord Hugo. So...I did a cable shoot out using the chord sarum against my reference cables (audience au24se and Jena Labs). The phrase that kept coming to mind was "it fills in the empty space". Like when i am the eye doctor and they use the machine that tests different lenses the chord sarum added more definition and filled in the entire sound stage. As if information was previously missing. Like a puzzle with just a few pieces missing the sarum filled out the entire picture. And added to harmonic rightness. Piano and high hat sounded like piano and high hat. Filled I the empty spaces, removed a thin veil, and added some harmonic rightness. One cable.

This the analogue interconnects right? I owned Sarum Tuned ARAY RCA and XLR with my previous Linn system until recently and it's a great cable! So much extra detail and instruments really come to life. It does have a fairly distinctive sound though and IMHO can sound a tiny bit on the grainy side. Still just about the best analogue interconnect I've ever heard though (not including stratospherically-priced ones).
A friend uses Sarum speaker cables in a pretty high-end system and they work superbly.

Two different UK companies. The Chord company is a cable company. Chord Electronics, the maker of the Hugo, is located in Kent and makes amps, streamers, sources, etc.

I used this cable in my Naim system. Din to Din and Din to XRL. They are great cables. I had the Sarum and they upgraded it to the Tuned Array for a very modest fee. Which I think was great that they offered an upgrade. Great company.

Ive wanted to try a more standard balance pair in a non Naim system, but I haven't had a chance to yet.

Good to know. They should merge forces.
