Chord announces stand alone M Scaler for any DAC

Im confused in that review where he states the M Scaler is much better than the BLU MK 2 CD player....but if you have lots of CD's stick with the Blu MK2. I don't get it. Why not find another Disc spinner that the M Scaler could be used with to elevate the performance above and beyond what the Blu Mk2 is capable of. Im scratching my head.

I have both. He’s flat out wrong saying the M Scaler sounds way better than the Blu2 and leaves out a little nugget:

Blu2 - Power cable of choice
M Scaler - wall wart

Sonically, I don’t feel there is any difference.

It doesn’t. Just a switch on the back for adjusting the sampling rates.

The whole point of the Blu2 is to hear what it does with CD’s. Of course USB sounds great too, but it makes CD’s sound terrific. If someone is only doing computer audio, well of course the M Scaler makes more sense, just be sure to get the tall stand for the DAVE so the M Scaler can slide right underneath it.
