Chair Or Other Listening Seat Recommendations?

Well, I'm also 6'3" (and bulky), and I've had no problems with the e-Kornes/Stressless. They actually have 2 or 3 different sizes, depending on the model, so you can order yours Large, like I did :)

The nice thing with the Reno/Vegas is that you can adjust the height of the headrest - great for audiophiles who want to keep their ears just above headrest level to listen to back wall reflections!

Chairs are like high-end equipment - you have to live with them for sometime before you know if you like them. Sometimes they seem very comfortable for a short time, but become problematic after a few days or weeks. And everyone has its own body morphology and needs.

Is it true the Wilson guys just pile large amounts of hundred dollar bills on the floor and sit in them.

Just an update. I'm loving the Ekornes/Stressless Vegas Chair. It's very nice. Not too much cushion, nice foot rest, and the laptop table is pretty cool. For a guy who's coming off from back surgery they're great chairs. Thank you so much for the recommendation(s) everyone!

I just took a minute and snapped a photo and uploaded it in case anyone is interested in what they look like.

Another big bump for the Ekornes/Stressless. Worth the cost of admittance for sure!

I'm not sure what model mine is, but I wish I had that laptop tray like Bryan pictures above... that looks pretty convenient!

DODO CHAIR BY CASSINA
Swivel armchair on fixed base which can become a chaiselongue with different tilting positions. Steel frame, padding in CFCfree polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The back and footrest are movable; the different positions can be adjusted respectively through the use of a small lever operating a gas spring and of one side handle. Small lever, handle and base in nickelplated steel. Fixed fabric or leather upholstery. Removable overcovers in special fabrics are available for head and footrest.

You know their must be a market for 50k to 100k chair for hi end maybe a 18 inch woofer you sit right down into. Built in universal remote built into the arm. You know with a star trek look. Self pouring drink holder.
Neck brace to hold your head in the sweet spot. Tilts up and forward when the record ends . Foot massage that is timed to the music. An option would be a pair of meters to tell the tilt and recline angles for the McIntosh guys . A spin cycle for the Hammond organ lovers . They could come embroidered with your favourite gears name.

Would like one of these. No one in Portland has one in stock.

Well this one already has the head thing down pat and electricity to boot. The add ons should be easy. :p

All Stressless chairs seem to be built on the same base, in which case the table should work on even older models -- it's very cool how it simply compresses onto one of the side supports. I will warn you though that they're not cheap at $499, but if you're spending a lot on a chair, you might as well splurge on the laptop table -- it's super convenient and is yet another position/place I can sit and comfortably get work done while listening to music. To me that's priceless.

I really like my Fortress Corona chair, it is the most comfortable chair I have ever had. It is a bit expensive ($2200 used) but I use it for several hours every day so it is worth it to me. I have since removed the couch and moved the ottoman to underneath the side table. A noticeable improvement in sound.

So which one is you? The one in the middle? You are a cat right? ;)

LOL. More like I'm the one on the ottoman. I just took in another stray kitten that took up residence in my garage. He seems to have a little difficulty with his hind legs so I took pity on him, I doubt he'd survive the winter. That makes 5 so I am getting close to the 1:1 cat to remote ratio.

I have 2 and a stray that drops by for food. I am going to start throwing out remotes right now.
