Chad Hits The Jackpot

This is great news for audiophiles who treasure vinyl. QRP, with their modern restoration of record presses, simply puts out some of most outstanding quality pressings in the world.

The sound quality is just phenomenal ! Every one of the records I've bought from them has spectacular sound quality, very quiet pressings.
 
Wow. It is great that QRP, AS & co is growing. Those presses look like they need a complete pull down and overhaul. I hope he spends proper on those presses to get them to proper production specification. As a loyal international customer, its all about the quality that comes out of his plant. Why else would international customers pay for these considerable exports...

Oh Chad will. If you read the report of Fremer's visit to QRP when it opened, not only did Chad restore the presses but brought them up to 21st century technology eg. ways of absolutely controlling the temperature of the press, etc.
 
cool story. now that Chad will double his capacity, economies of scale would suggest 45 rpm double LPs should sell for $25 instead of 50...wishful thinking:sigh:

Probably not but his releases should come out faster.

If nothing else, Chad will be able to press LPs for more labels ensuring an overall better quality product. You can't believe the albums he had to turn down because the quantities would preclude him from releasing his own records.

Wonder how long until these presses come online? Plus AFAIK, Chad still hasn't used his two hand presses that were being reserved for his UHQR releases. Chad's been talking about the new UHQR for three years, showed the artwork, discussed the releases, but no product yet. :(
 
Yes, i believe it, regarding the painful business dilemma of turning away business because you're too busy as it is. A good problem to have but not an easy one to navigate.
At the very least, Chad will get unused stored presses updated to SOTA standard and in full use, as backup machines, etc. That is all good for QRP and for us as end consumers.

My guess is way less than you might think. I bet he didn't pay $10k a piece and he may well have bought the entire lot of 13 for $100k or less. To the untrained eye they all look like junk and Chad will have to invest lots of money to restore them and bring them up to the standards of his other presses.

True but what about the cost of moving and shipping?
