Aurender FLOW

Aurender FLOW Logo

Aurender, a leader in high-resolution audio products, has introduced FLOW, a portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier that brings audiophile quality to personal listening – at $1,295, almost half the price of competing systems.
To date, Aurender has been best known for its high-resolution Reference Music Servers, including the W20, X100 and S10. FLOW is a radical but natural new product direction for this innovative company, one that has the substantial advantage of an extensive in-house software team (many so-called "digital" companies go outside for software development).

FLOW Zoom
The LCD multiple-status display is inside a velocity-sensitive volume control dial for ease of use.
Aurender is able to design and produce the industry-leading products like the FLOW portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier, as they have perhaps the most advanced in-house software capability in its product category. Aurender's Music Servers received no less than six audiophile industry awards in 2014 alone.

"We've perfected the art and the ease of delivering high-resolution audio in the home with our award-winning Music Servers," said Harry Lee, Aurender's Director. "With FLOW, it's possible to bring the high-resolution listening experience wherever you go, all at an unmatched price. FLOW quite simply is the future of quality personal audio, being much more affordable for consumers — and it's here today."

FLOW's 32bit/384kHz, DSD64/128 DAC expertly renders the most robust of high-resolution audio content. In addition to its USB 3.0 and SPDIF optical inputs, there is a 1/4 inch/6.35mm headphone jack.
In keeping with its advanced capabilities, FLOW's Industrial Design is equally noteworthy — and exceptionally attractive. The DAC and amp are housed in a sleek, undulating satin aluminum case with an LCD multiple-status display, which is inside a velocity-sensitive volume control dial for added convenience.
FLOW mSATA

The latest Notebooks carry only 128-256GB of SSD, and there is little space left for music libraries. Aurender's FLOW has an mSATA slot for a user-installable 1TB mSATA SSD.

Playback controls on the just under one-pound device include a power button, MENU, MOVE UP/DOWN, and PLAY/PAUSE.
In addition to producing exacting, powerful high-resolution sound through even hard-to-drive headphones, FLOW can optionally store up to 1TB of music via its user-installable mSATA slot, making it a highly convenient personal, portable DAC/headphone amp. Thanks to this substantial storage, FLOW can conceivably contain a user's entire music library, including both high-resolution and lower-resolution files.
FLOW is available from selected Aurender dealers and on the Aurender website at a Suggested Retail Price of $1,295. A luxurious leather case is included [unlike the more expensive competition, for whom its optional].

2015 CES, Las Vegas, NV, January 6, 2015 – Aurender, a leader in award-winning, high-resolution audio products, introduces the new N100 Network Music Server/Player, that makes managing, browsing, optimizing, collecting and enjoying large music collections stored on Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, and lossless streaming services like TIDAL Hi-Fi, convenient and entertaining for everyone.

"The N100 Server/Player allows users to infinitely add to their music collections via NAS devices. And while its performance is audiophile-quality, you don't have to be an audiophile to enjoy the N100," says Harry Lee, Aurender's Director. "It has all the qualities that an audio enthusiast looks for, but with streamlined simplicity, design, and tremendous functionality for the average user."

Quarter shot

The N100 Caching Network Music Server/Player accesses and plays music stored on external NAS devices, allowing you to add as much music as you want to your library or set up a multi-room system. With no internal hard drive and the ability to play only NAS-stored music, the user can expand his or her music collection ad infinitum without worrying about the constraints normally associated with hard-drive size.

Because the N100 features Solid-State-Drive (SSD) cached playback of NAS contents (via its 120GB SSD), it also eliminates noise and vibration. Due to its lack of internal hard drive (NAS is required), the N100 also has a more compact machined aluminum chassis than Aurender's other Music Servers, and includes a 3-inch AMOLED display that shows information such as artist name and song title.
The unit is also designed for use with the elegant new matching machined aluminum Aurender X725 DAC/Amplifier - simply add a pair of quality stereo speakers to bring high-performance, high-resolution sound to your home, office, RV or boat, and with fewer components and cables than the typical analog system requires.

Remote Internet Support

Like all of Aurender's Music Streamers/Servers, the new N100 includes one of the industry's most convenient features: Remote Internet Technical Support, which makes troubleshooting simple. Users can simply send a Remote Support Request via the Aurender Conductor app, whose engineers will quickly diagnose and fix problems over the Internet.

The Award-Winning Aurender App + Integrated TIDAL

Control the N100 Music Server/Player with the unparalleled Aurender App for iPad (or the new Android "Lite" App). The app was designed and engineered in-house by Aurender's software developers to perform optimally and swiftly with very large music collections in mind.
All settings and functions of the N100 can be easily accessed through the Settings menu. The playlist-based app then intuitively allows you to view your collection by Song, Artist, Album, Genre, Composer, Conductor, or Folder. You can also filter these results by Genre, Favorites, and even Quality (DSD, 16/24-bit, etc.).

The Aurender App continuously receives praise among press and in the field as one of the best companion Music Server apps available, with lightning-fast browsing and searching. The app also provides integrated access to TIDAL, the high-fidelity streaming music service that allows you to play more than 25 million full-resolution lossless music tracks directly on the N100 (TIDAL subscription required).

The N100 with 120GB SSD for caching playback ($2499) and the N100S with 1TB SSD storage (price t/b/a) will both be available this month. Visit the Venetian, Suite 30-133 & 30-134, at the CES 2015, for a demo of their new products.

CES: Venetian 30-133, 30-134

2015 CES, Las Vegas, NV, January 6, 2015 - Aurender, a leader in award-winning, high-resolution audio products, introduces the new X-PAC and N-PAC Audio Systems, making managing, browsing, optimizing, and enjoying massive, high-quality music libraries convenient and entertaining for everyone - without the typical "Audiophile Clutter."

"We designed these two systems to be one-stop solutions that anyone can use. While they provide quality that an audiophile will appreciate, they are approachable, unintimidating, and beautiful in any space, says Harry Lee, Aurender's Director. "Both 'PAC' systems optimize all aspects of the listening experience - from ordering up music on our proprietary, award-winning iPad app, to doing the digital-to-analog conversion for the finest playback, to amplifying the music. They're powerful, extremely intuitive to use, and gorgeous to look at."

Quarter shot

The main difference between the X-PAC (large photo at top of page) and the N-PAC (photo immediately above) systems is that the X-PAC manages massive collections (up to 20,000 CDs worth) on its internal hard drives, while the N-PAC accesses Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices for multi-room use, as well as larger music collections.

The X-PAC combines an X100 Music Server/Player and X725 DAC/Stereo Amplifier, while the N-PAC combines an N100 Network Music Server/Player and the same X725 DAC/Stereo Amplifier. Just add a pair of high-quality stereo speakers to bring audiophile sound to your home, office, RV or boat.
Both the X-PAC and N-PAC systems feature Remote Internet Technical Support. Troubleshooting is simple because users can simply send a Remote Support Request using the Aurender Conductor app, allowing engineers to quickly diagnose and fix problems over the Internet, should they occur.
X100 Music Server-based X-PAC System: SSD Caching Playback from Internal HD for Large Music Collections

With the X100, Aurender has pulled out all the stops to create a one-of-a-kind audio experience by using Solid-State-Drive cached playback from its internal HD. The unit caches music for playback from its internal HD, eliminating latency, electrical interference and noise resulting from spinning hard drives and compact discs. The result is amazingly clean output. With up to an impressive 12TB (X100L 12TB model) storage capability (and that's without a NAS device connection), it can accommodate more than 20,000 CDs and high-resolution music tracks in uncompressed WAV format.
Aesthetically, the X-PAC is a very handsome, minimalist Lifestyle-oriented music system, with a pair of elegant, machined aluminum cases that complements any décor. A 3.3-inch AMOLED displays album information crisply and clearly, showing track name and recording information, as well as sample rate and music file format - all controlled and selectable from its elegant, easy-to-use iPad app.

N100-based N-PAC System: SSD Playback from Network Attached Storage for Limitless Music Collections

The new N-PAC Network Music Player differs from the X100-based X-PAC, focusing users to connect Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices to the system for a virtually endless music library. Like the X-PAC, it provides Solid-State-Drive (SSD) cached playback of NAS contents, for flawless playback of content from NAS even with unoptimized network connections.
Because it doesn't have internal hard drives, the NAS-driven N100 is smaller and more compact than the X100, with a 3-inch AMOLED display. Standard SSD cache for the N100 is 120GB; a 1TB SSD cache model is optional.

Matching X725 USB DAC & Stereo Amplifier for both X-PAC and N-PAC Systems: Optimizes and Amplifies Any Music File

Both the X-PAC and N-PAC systems include Aurender's new X725 DAC & Stereo Amplifier, which converts any incoming music file to high-quality analog and provides the power amplification to your speakers (not included). It plays up to 24/192kHz quality - DSD64/128 in native mode - for a pure, articulate sound that brings music to life and reveals detail that you may have never noticed from your favorite music tracks. On the amplification side, it provides a robust 100W (THD+N 0.01%) per channel at 8-ohm stereo Class D amplification - a fancy way of saying that the X725 has enough power to fill a room with sound. An IR Remote Control is included.

Control It with the Award-Winning Aurender App + TIDAL

Control both the X-PAC and N-PAC music systems with the unparalleled Aurender App for iPad (or the new Android "Lite" App). The App was designed and engineered in-house by Aurender's software developers to perform optimally and swiftly with extremely large music collections in mind. All settings and functions of the X-PAC and N-PAC systems can be easily accessed through the Settings menu of the Aurender App. The playlist-based app intuitively allows you to view your collection by Song, Artist, Album, Genre, Composer, Conductor, or Folder. You can also filter these results by Genre, Favorites, and even Quality (DSD, 16/24-bit, etc.). The Aurender App continuously receives praise among press and in the field as one of the best companion Music Server apps available, with lightning-fast browsing and searching.

Both the X100-based X-PAC and N100-based N-PAC have TIDAL streaming music fully integrated into their app. The X-PAC (with X100 6TB capacity) has a Suggested Retail Price of $5,999. The N-PAC (with N100) has a Suggested Retail Price of $4,999. For consumers already owning an X100, the matching X725 DAC/ Stereo Amplifier has a Suggested Retail Price of $2,499.

Any confirmation from Verity about their Monsalvat debut? Is it happening after all? Seems to be some online chatter that there have been some tech challenges and that Verity will be bringing the Lohengrin 2s to the Lamm room instead of the Monsalvat.

I'm in Vegas now I remember why I don't come here. This is the wild west of smokers. I think they play machines just so they can smoke.

Scaena will debut smaller, more affordable speakers. Nine mid-range drivers plus ribbon tweeters mounted over a 12" subwoofer but somehow isolated. Rumors are $30-35K.
