This year I wasn't able to attend CES, however, Jon Lewis is on assignment for Audioshark. Big thanks to Jon for taking the photos and offering impressions of each room.

Let's get started...

M Project on static display

Q7 with Q Sub 18, Soulution 701s and 725, Baetis Music Server and Berkeley Ref DAC. Very smooth Q7 but the sub overwhelmed the room.

attachment.php

Blah sound in every way. Nothing special.

attachment.php

Beautiful looking and sounding speakers. Pretty good tune gear. No Vitus this time, don't know why.

attachment.php

Static display. The all-black Master Inno on the fancy stand looked much more impressive.

Nice Bryston amp and some very nice stand mounts for only $3K. Made some other speakers sound shabby in comparison.

Berlin RC9 on static display when I was there. Beautiful speaker.

attachment.php

So sexy.

attachment.php

711, 725 and new 560 DAC with CMS Sotto Voce rack and Vovox cables driving Alexias. First time I heard the Alexia's sound good.

attachment.php

Very good speaker for the money.

Lumin. Magico S1. Ayre amp. Terrific sound. One of my favorite rooms, especially for the price.

attachment.php

All Kondo, other than maybe the speakers. So sweet.

attachment.php

A monstrosity of a speaker, with sound to match.

attachment.php

Pretty nice looking and sound.

attachment.php

So bad. In every way.

attachment.php

Didn't live up to the hype.

An insult to my ears.

attachment.php

A revelation. Tremendous speaker for the size and money.

attachment.php

Prince Speakers. Ugly but so sonically pleasing for $9,995.

attachment.php

The turntable was the best part.

Zanden Electronics driving crazy looking robot speakers

attachment.php

D'Agostino, dCS, Kronos and YG Carmel 2. Like a stew gone bad. Too many ingredients in the pot.

attachment.php

New 2100 gear, looked and sounded terrific. The speaker was too polite and in too small of a room.

attachment.php

More from Boulder.

The Pass XS150's made the TAD's sound VERY good.

attachment.php

Blah.

attachment.php

Still Blah.

attachment.php

Again blah.

attachment.php

TAD Electronics on Billy Bags to play the new Evo Monitor, which was very good. Side and bottom vented allowed them to play extremely loud with no distortion.

Synergistic, McIntosh and S3's. Not ready for prime time.

attachment.php

Prettiest table I saw, but they were playing digital when I arrived.

attachment.php

So bad. Like trying to enunciate clearly with a sock stuffed in your mouth.

attachment.php

VAC and dCS. Beautiful gear. Not memorable sound.

attachment.php

Naim Statement/Grande. I think the electronics were better than the speaker, but it was hard to tell. Very mechanical and clinical.

The Montsalvat wasn't ready, but this room was my favorite. Lamm ML2.2 and 3 beamed, LL1 sig preamp and phono with EMM stack. They played digital when I was there.

(side note: when I was speaking with Jon on the phone this morning, he was raving about this room and these Verity Lohengrin speakers.)

attachment.php

In the Verity Lohengrin room, but not playing. Sad.

attachment.php

Jon tells me this is my next car.

Who is Jon Lewis?

A member of our forum. He's probably heard more gear in the past 5 years than anyone I know. He was raving about Soulution when no one had even heard of them.

He also has an appreciation for great tube gear too.

Keith - are you using the app or a computer? Try logging out and back in again.

I enjoy Jon's caustic style. :D

Having been to more shows than I care to count, I know it's almost a fluke when I run across a good sounding room. Good to see someone telling it like it is.

By the way...having the same issue as Keith. Posts #7, 10-12 not showing pics with the comments.
