Caved in for the Aurender N10

Dan - I use the AES/EBU for my Berk REF 2 DAC. That does utilize the OXCO clock generator, I believe. It's smart to use the battery backup.

The 48TB is 11TB of music and the rest is my wife's RAW/JPG photos. She's a part time photographer.

I don't understand why Aurender shows the first pic on their website. It looks one third of the case is empty, which is clearly not true in the second pic. I'm sure there are many ppl like me who have been mistaken.

kzhtoo.......The first time I saw the top photo it struck me the same way, but upon closer inspection it became apparent this was a cover on a well isolated circuit board. The Aurender logo milled into the isolated compartment's lid and the screws that secure it in place were the first indicators, then I noticed the elevation difference of the lid above the motherboard and cooling fins. I can see how a quick glance at the photo might leave one questioning the seemingly empty space.
 
Anxiously waiting for my Aurender N10 to be delivered today. I have my gate open and my ears peeled for the UPS truck to be coming up the drive. That will probably be around his usual delivery time of 4:30 or so. In the meantime I am STILL ripping my CD library.
 
Dan - very exciting stuff! You have my cell number if you get stuck, but the setup is very straight forward. Looking forward to your impressions. I sure do love both of my N10's!
 
The Aurender N10 arrived about an hour ago. What a beauty, and heavy, too. I may or may not get it networked and powered tonight. I'm trying to complete the ripping I have been at for six days, 14 to 15 hours per day. It is wearing me out. I have about another 80 CD's more to rip and it will be complete. I'll post photos tomorrow.

I know you've considered this purchase for awhile...can't wait to hear what you think of it.
 
Dan great stuff! I am really pleased with my Aria 2, it simply is some of the best digital I have heard for some time. The ease & sound quality you are about to experience from your Aurender makes me think back to a time not so long ago when I had my system at the best it has been for a long time, congrats & enjoy :thumbsup:

Kev.......Thank you. I was up until 2:30 AM last night. I got the Aurender N10 connected to my network, powered up, updated, iPad connected and the app updated, and loaded 62 hi-res HDTracks albums on its hard drive. Then I spent an hour listening to the N10 before I wore myself completely out and made myself go to bed. The Aurender N10 is fabulous. Even with no break-in time on it, the N10's sound is remarkably involving. I'm certain I will have a lot more to say about the N10 once I have a couple hundred hour on it. I am thrilled to own this fine music server. It is a beauty in every respect.

Today I am ripping the last 50 or so CD's to my external hard drive, then I will begin the process of loading music files to the N10's hard drive and organizing the music to my preference. Set up was straight forward, files transfer is a drag and drop process, and the Aurender app on the iPad is intuitive and well designed. For now, I am up and running, pleased to have the N10 in the studio system, and still have a ton of music files to load before I can settle down and enjoy it.

Rance.......Thank you. I am very pleased with the Aurender N10. This should turn out to be a long term love affair.
