I need to copy files from an OS X formatted drive and want to use it on my Lumin U1 but OS X can't write to NTFS formatted drives.

Can the Lumin read USB drives formatted as ExFAT?

Sorry, exFAT is not supported by any Lumin device.

For small USB flash drives, consider using FAT32 for OS X.

Peter,

I understand NTFS or FAT32 formatted external USB drives are supported, is there an NTFS formatted drive size limit? I know Lumin needs a single partition drive.

I think it's limited to 16TB, but we never tested such a large device. Before reaching this limit I suspect operations like browsing may slow down to become impractical to use, or other unforeseen limits may affect normal functioning.

We always recommend people use MinimServer (or L1) instead. The external USB drive support is mainly there for convenience - such as a friend bringing a few music on USB flash drive.

Thank you again Peter. I really appreciate your help and information.

Firmware 11 is now ready for Lumin U1 and X1. It adds support of exFAT. Better late than never.
