Can Ref 6 match with my power-amp? Need help

[FONT=新細明體] [/FONT]I’m using Electrocompaniet EC-4.8 pre-amp and their AW-180 Mono-block power amp for years, I enjoy EC sound but they don’t have any new pre-amp for long time. Recently I’m very interest in ARC’s Ref 6, and I saw many Ref 5SE users are using other brand’s SS power-amp with their ARC pre-amp and the result are very good. Does anybody know if my AW-180 power-amp can match with ARC Ref 6? And do you think if any improvement in sound quality if I change to ARC Ref 6? THX

PS: I use Esoteric K-03X CD and SACD player, Avalon Opus Ceramique speaker, Audience AR6-TSS power conditioner

From an impedance match they will play very nicely. The AW180's input impedance is 220Kohms on RCA (single-ended) and 110Kohms on XLR (balanced). ARC recommends a minimum of 20Kohms for the partnering amp with all its preamps. Most ARC Amps are at least 100Kohms as well. So from an electrical/impedance match perspective they are a good match.

Sonically I have no idea. There is a member on another forum and on Agon (Doogie_Howser I think is his user name) who has Ref 5SE preamp matched with Electrocompaniet's Nemo monos driving Thiel 3.7 speakers and he seems to like that combo a lot I remember reading. But that's just one data point.
