Small update & question:
I am still getting familiar with Mc452 & C50 - new B&W 800D to come mid March,...
I made a comparison between using my SONY CD normal output (RCA) and digital coax output connected to C50 digital input.
The level is matched and I was able to switch the inputs very often/easy on remote,...
AMAZING thing is, that normal output sounded MUCH better (!) then digital - this was totally unexpected, since I am 99,9999999% sure DAC in C50 is much better then in my almost 20 years old Sony,...
The difference was in the "size" left/right of soundstage and "air" of the sound - and not small difference !
The reasons I can think of are:
- the digital output of SONY CD is crap - possible
- the cable is the issue - brand new, cable with correct impendance - highly unlikely
- the SONY DAC is better then C50 DAC - hard to believe
- ???
Any comments ?
