Can you switch inputs and see if it is still the left channel or moves to the right channel?

Thanks Joe I did switch sources and changed inputs from left to right but the same left channel meter is very sluggish and low. I am wondering if its a tube

Could be the tube or the meter. Maybe someone can think of something else.

How is the audible channel balance? Is it possible you have changed a program setting?
If that's all ok, you might have a bad meter or meter driver.

audio sounds good
I reviewed all settings
Wonder if I can take it further i.e. meter or driver. would much rather send a part back then the whole thing

Bad Meter. Mike at Audio Classics: spent phone time with me and I switched meters r to l and voila we had our answer. 3 cheers to Mike at AC. Those guys are fine

That was my answer I wanted you to check the balance if it was just the bad meter or not. Good thing found the problem and hope its not a big issue. :)

Thanks Paul: I saw where you where heading with your strategy. When I move the balance to favor the right speaker the left defective meter went back to its resting place but had limited movement the other way.

Not an issue Mike at Audio Classics has always been there supporting anything I bought from him and more.
He will locate a new meter for me.
