I need to hear the new McIntosh pieces. Love the fact that this is both tube and solid state in one preamp.
For connecting the C12000 to your amplifier(s) and the rest of your home music system, there are four total outputs: one balanced vacuum tube; one balanced solid-state; one fixed unbalanced; and one programmable unbalanced (can be either vacuum tube or solid-state).
A few companys offer the tube or SS option in same component. Cary does it and Peachtree used to. I have mixed feelings, it's nice to have that choice but I'd think a person would end up preferring one or the other, it adds to the expense. Then again, we seem to change gear at times so could be handy again.
Tongue in Cheek, My Friend, Tongue in Cheek
I am quite happy with how my system has settled in with no changes for the past several months. That said,
it's amazing how we all can get up-grade-bug when something new appears. I for one am doing my best "know nothing" for a while (hopefully).
That said, really curious to check out those new 3500 mk II some time.
