I would like to get some input on what you think about buying older speakers. Currently I have Magnepan 3.7i speakers which sound wonderful. My wife and I are talking about buying a smaller home in a few years. As everyone knows the Maggies need to be out from the front wall 4 to 6 foot. I have always liked the Sonus Faber Guarneri Memento speakers. I believe these came out in 2006 and to buy a used pair they seem to be going for around $7,000. Would it be wise to find a newer model of speakers as some Memento's could be close to 10 years old? The Evo's are out of my price range so I can't go that route. Is it possible to still get replacement mid range and tweeters for them if one goes bad? How long can a speaker cone be played under normal use before it starts breaking down?

Thank you,

~Mike
