So after ANGST over breaking one nearly new, trying an AT33EV and not liking it, I spring for a new OC9/III/...Perfection for my system...sigh..its all about SYNERGY , Yes?

I always had the III. And yes, its a III !!! On the other site when everyone was buying II's, it was mostly on my review of the III...

The original OC9/III was a replacement for an AT33/PTG II that failed and AT US was nice enough to warranty (even though they did not have to)

LOVE it...the detail, crisp, very wide soundstage...smiling smiling...LOL

One of the reasons I love this cart is it is super super detailed yet, does not sacrifice bass to do so..just very good in all ranges. Love the way voices are presented....
 
Not going out, so here;
I'd REALLY like for you to try the direct hook-up I suggested and get back to me or start a thread on it. You should know that I really, really hate what most preamps do to eff up the sound of a system. A fellow AK who knows this said this one might pass muster, have a look-see here. It is available with remote but don't know how many inputs, look up The Truth preamp for reviews.

I should explain to bystanders that I have long-used a passive controller between my source devices and power amp to avoid the sonic degradation that most preamps impart to the result. I'm suggesting our colleague give it a try with his MC phono stage since his SS amp has input level controls. It's an interesting experiment to parity-check the transparency of the preamp.

I'm presently using the OC9MLa/II in the Mitz LT as my 'best' player at present and thru a decent front end it has been an absolute revelation, a major advance in my system result.
